Community News

Sawston Village College played host to the Eastern Region Adult Learning Network Meeting on 21 October. The conference discussed best practice in Adult Learning, a discussion led by Roy Brown of NIACE and how the SSAT can support community and Adult Learning.

Our Mission Statement

The College will use its specialist status to create a learning environment characterised by a high level of challenge which raises standards of achievement, leading to whole school improvement in examination performance. Teaching and learning will be stimulating and engaging, with examples of leading practice. Furthermore, the specialist subjects will take the lead in the promotion and embedding of assessment for learning and the use of new technologies.

In particular, the College will:

  • Be a centre of excellence in scientific, technological, enterprising and mathematical education
  • Contribute to local, regional and national developments in science and mathematical education
  • Encourage young people to embrace learning and employment pathways in science and mathematics
  • Work with our family of schools and the locality to support the development of a cohesive, learning orientated and dynamic community.
